We must understand that mentoring program connects and bring people together to transfer knowledge, skill and empowerment to be leaders in their fields and lives.

Academics for some is all about having a good education, going through college or having a degree.
This is why there are many frustrated students, graduates and workers today who hate Monday mornings.

Purposeful academics however is arming oneself with real education and that is; enhancing and development of your skills, gifts and talents.

Successful trading of your “developed” skills, gifts and talents is what brings success. In other words, a person’s ability to add value (as a result of problems he/she solved or solutions he/she provides) determines their worth, i.e. determines how successful they become, determines their sphere of influence, stream of income, levels of impact.

At George Uwha Mentorship Program, we are focused to see our mentees refine their skills; identify and develop their gifts/talents. This is what our programs are designed to accomplish; the practical steps of assessing knowledge and information on “what to do” and
“how to do”

The Bible says “If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.”
(Ecclesiastes‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

Our mentees are equipped and guided on applying for wisdom, stating relevant, leveraging education for smart work to succeed in life.

Every relationship you have either nourishes a strength or weakness in you.
In every human being are character traits, a belief/value system which are nurtured by the relationships we keep and the caliber of people in our space.
So for example you see mostly, drug addicts friends with drug addicts. An average student or businessman keeps a fellow average student or businessman companionship.
“As iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens [and influences] another.” (Proverbs‬ ‭27:17‬ ‭AMP‬‬)

What about abusive relationships? Broken homes?
In the world, there are views of friendship, relationships, marriage, family and sex; that are attractive but are in reality channels to a destructive life.
They impact lives, they are seen in advertisements, on TV, the internet etc, all contrary to God’s purpose and the guaranteed truth to peaceful relationships.

This aspect of the mentorship program is all about guidance and impacting God’s ways and wisdom for having genuine valuable relationships; enduring connections; greater intimacy and love within our marriages.

You need values to succeed.
There is no way to separate lifestyle from failure or success in life.
This is an essential component of the mentorship program.
Our lifestyle guide is anchored on character development. This comprises
- Nature/Environment (your space)
- Belief System
- Values and Morals
- Ethics/Decision.
At the center is character because ultimately, your character controls your life.
Our aim is to see our mentees develop the core foundation of godly character which is displayed in their lifestyles.

Career is defined as an occupation (or series of jobs) undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and with opportunities for progress.
A successful career is important in life. In any industry or area of life, be it the business world, sports, art, ministry, agriculture etc, the path to success is always: overcoming challenges and going to the next level.

There are key factors for any successful career such as: discipline, diligence, integrity, skill acquisition, humility, networking, passion etc but at the forefront amongst them is the discovery of purpose. A discovery of your God given assignment here on earth. The pursuit of vision.

Some people are doing what they are not born to do, some are doing nothing and so there’s a lot of depression and frustration.

In this segment of the mentorship program, we are committed to enlightenment.
Our anchor is premised on:
a revelation of vision, a discovery of purpose and the pursuit of same are cardinal component to a successful career.

Lack of productivity is the reason behind poverty. Being broke is proof of a crisis of creativity.
It is those who are productive that will attract resources.
No solution providing business collapses especially when it is available to those in the problem or crisis.
This is why businesses and business people fail.
This arm of GUMP is focused on equipping our mentees and partakers with requisite knowledge, exposure and training.
This arm comprise of a total package ranging from: passion for that business, to trading your skill and gifts; having tenacity and perseverance to marketability; possessing the qualities/character traits to personal development.
This arm is not money focused but God driven.
Jesus revealed in John 5:19
the most essential tool for business success (that transcends possession of finances alone to all round fulfillment and peace) which is: reliance and relationship with God.

Dr Myles Munroe defines Leadership as the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by a passion, generate by a vision, produced by a conviction, ignited by a purpose.

You are designed to lead, rule, dominate. (Genesis 1:26-28)
This is God’s purpose and design for you.
Every manufacturer has a purpose and an intention for his/her product to serve. The manufacturer equips the product with the capacity to carry out this purpose. The product is wired-up and engineered to fulfill the function that the product is made for.
So a pen has the makings and capacity to utilize ink to write. A book has the properties and pages to receive ink and be written on.
It’s difficult to write on a pen with a book and vice versa.

God created you and I with the required capacity, innate quality and natural ability to lead.

If you are to fulfill your purpose in life, your leadership role can not be underutilized.

Peter F. Drucker stated, "There may be "born leaders,' but there are surely far too few to depend on them. Leadership must be learned and can be learned...

In this lies the goal and aim of the Leadership Program of GUMP.
To groom leaders out of all mentees (and all who partake in our forums) through learning, training and personal development. Equipped, they can accept and meet the demands of leadership, take practical steps and reproduce same competency in others that is at work in them.
